چکیده

Cryptosporidium parvum is an enteric protozoan, which causes severe diarrhoea in a wide range of vertebrate hosts including ruminants and humans. C. infections are responsible for immense economic losses to the livestock industry; furthermore, zoonotic spread infection may lead mortality immunosuppressed In present study, we report two cases cryptosporidiosis goat kids Republic Korea. Both were afflicted with upon presentation; histopathological examinations revealed atrophied fused intestinal villi numerous circular basophilic organisms jejunum ileum. diagnosed based on results analysis, amplification gp60 gene, modified Ziehl-Neelsen staining, antigen ELISA. According phylogenetic analysis using gene genetic subtypes, isolates identified as subtype IIdA15G1 potential. This first pathological caprine induced by IId Considering clinical manifestations associated lesions significance these findings, continuous monitoring prevention goats essential minimising ruminant farms maintaining public health safety standards.

Zoonotic Cryptosporidium parvum in Romanian newborn lambs (Ovis aries).

This study was undertaken to investigate the occurrence and public health significance of Cryptosporidium species/genotypes and subtypes in a newborn lambs. A total of 175 diarrheic fecal samples from lambs (younger than 21 days) were collected in seven sheep flocks located in western Romania, and were microscopically examined for the presence of Cryptosporidium oocysts after staining with modi...

Cryptosporidium genotypes and subtypes in lambs and goat kids in Spain.

To provide information on the transmission dynamics of cryptosporidial infections in domestic small ruminants and the potential role of sheep and goats as a source for human cryptosporidiosis, Cryptosporidium-positive isolates from 137 diarrheic lambs and 17 goat kids younger than 21 days of age were examined by using genotyping and subtyping techniques. Fecal specimens were collected between 2...

Experimental Cryptosporidium parvum infections in immunosuppressed adult mice.

Five strains of adult mice were immunosuppressed with the synthetic glucocorticosteroid dexamethasone (DEX), administered either orally or intraperitoneally. The strains of mice used were C57BL/6N, DBA/2N, CBA, C3H/HeN, and BALB/cAnN. All mice were evaluated for susceptibility to Cryptosporidium parvum after intragastric inoculation with 10(6) oocysts per mouse. The DBA/2N, CBA, C3H/HeN, and BA...

Two cases of zoonotic cryptosporidiosis in Spain by the unusual species Cryptosporidium ubiquitum and Cryptosporidium felis.

INTRODUCTION Two cases of infection by zoonotic transmission of unusual species of Cryptosporidium were detected in 2010-2011 in Spain (León and Zaragoza). MATERIALS AND METHODS Cryptosporidium spp. was detected by microscopic examination of modified Ziehl-Neelsen stained fecal smears. PCR-RFLP of the SSUrDNA gene and sequencing of the amplified fragment confirmed the species. RESULTS C. ub...

Distribution and Clinical Manifestations of Cryptosporidium Species and Subtypes in HIV/AIDS Patients in Ethiopia

BACKGROUND Cryptosporidiosis is an important cause for chronic diarrhea and death in HIV/AIDS patients. Among common Cryptosporidium species in humans, C. parvum is responsible for most zoonotic infections in industrialized nations. Nevertheless, the clinical significance of C. parvum and role of zoonotic transmission in cryptosporidiosis epidemiology in developing countries remain unclear. M...
